FAQ

Does my resume get uploaded anywhere?

No. PDF parsing, keyword extraction and scoring all run in your browser, on your device. There is no server to send your resume to — you can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads (except for the initial PDF engine download) and it still works.

What is an ATS, exactly — and is this a real one?

An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is the software companies use to collect and filter applications — many parse your resume and rank or reject it before a human reads it. Honesty first: this tool is not a real ATS product. It's a rule-based checker that models the things real ATS parsers care about — contact info, standard section headings, clean formatting, quantified impact, keyword coverage and strong language. Treat your score as directional advice, not a guarantee of any specific system's verdict.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF with a selectable text layer (most resumes exported from Word, Google Docs or Canva qualify). Scanned or image-only PDFs have no text layer and can't be read — paste your resume text instead. You can always skip the upload and paste text directly.

Why should I paste the job description?

Without a target, “good keywords” is guesswork — every posting weights different skills. With a JD, we extract its most frequent meaningful terms and show exactly which ones are missing from your resume. Without a JD, keyword match is excluded from your score and the remaining categories are re-weighted so your total stays on a 0–100 scale.

My score is low. Now what?

Start with your top 3 priority fixes — they're ordered by how much score they're worth. The most common quick wins: add missing standard sections (Skills, Experience, Education), turn “responsible for X” into “Led X — improved Y by Z%”, and mirror the JD's exact keywords where they honestly apply to you.

How does the $9 unlock work?

It unlocks the complete report for the scan currently on screen — all category details with quoted evidence, the full missing-keyword list, step-by-step fixes and report export. It stays unlocked for this browser session; running a new scan starts a fresh, locked report. One-time payment, no subscription.
